10 to the 5!

One hundred thousand hits!

An enormous thank you to everyone for reading Siren Voices over the past three years, for all your comments and support.

I suspect that it’s a frustrating read sometimes, little character fragments that don’t seem to lead anywhere, that hang in the air without resolution. But then I suppose that reflects the job: a scrappy succession of insights into other people’s lives. Anyway - thank you so much for persevering!

I thought I might run a little competition to celebrate passing such a significant marker, but I couldn’t think what to give away as a prize, apart from a drawing or two, a t-shirt, or maybe a book on prescription drugs. I’ll think about it! Watch this space.

Meanwhile, thanks again!

with lots of love

SK

Congratulations Spence, you deserve the accolade!

It's been a fascinating read, sometimes funny, sometimes scary (razorblade man!) often sad, but always heartfelt.

Am still awaiting the book deal (I'm sure it's not far off ;) )

You could start a competition to win a signed, blood-spattered rubber glove - then the winner can sell it when you're a rich and famous writer...

Maybe not.

Spence

Congratulations!

Always a pleasure to read, probably because of the fragmented nature of the posts. I dispatch ambulances, and understand completely how quickly patients come and go. Your postings help to show some of the accumulated life history behind each job. I would - and frequently do - recommend Siren Voices to anyone. If you haven't thought of publishing, you should.

All the best,

Mike

Well. I think I deserve a prize for being your 100,001th hit. Don't worry about a book on prescription drugs, I'll just have the prescription drugs thanks Lx

No it isn't a frustrating read, and thank you for persevering and not giving up that time you felt you should. Not to mention a thank you for what I'm sure is often a thankless job.

You write a wonderful blog Spence, and THAT'S why you're getting the hits you do...far from frustrating, this is, as Bendy says, "an absolute must read"...

Well done mate!

Congratulations, not frustrating, just a wonderful glimpse of gems, some cut, some uncut (that is the characters, not the writing!)
Here is to the next 100K

Hey Spence, Have just enjoyed catching up on your writing. Think your observations of people and places are still intriguing, beautiful and melancholy at times. Glad you still sound as dedicated as ever.
Congrats on the blog hits

It is always a true pleasure to read your blog, Spence. These glimpses you give us into your work, the people you help, and the place in which you live are like shadowboxes filled with jewels and stones.

If you'll keep writing, I'll keep reading. Thanks for the gift.
