One hundred thousand hits!
An enormous thank you to everyone for reading Siren Voices over the past three years, for all your comments and support.
I suspect that it’s a frustrating read sometimes, little character fragments that don’t seem to lead anywhere, that hang in the air without resolution. But then I suppose that reflects the job: a scrappy succession of insights into other people’s lives. Anyway - thank you so much for persevering!
I thought I might run a little competition to celebrate passing such a significant marker, but I couldn’t think what to give away as a prize, apart from a drawing or two, a t-shirt, or maybe a book on prescription drugs. I’ll think about it! Watch this space.
Meanwhile, thanks again!
with lots of love
SK

Congratulations Spence, you deserve the accolade!
It's been a fascinating read, sometimes funny, sometimes scary (razorblade man!) often sad, but always heartfelt.
Am still awaiting the book deal (I'm sure it's not far off ;) )
You could start a competition to win a signed, blood-spattered rubber glove - then the winner can sell it when you're a rich and famous writer...
Maybe not.

I'm glad that I've been able to read such an amazing blog.
Well done you and long may it last!

Well then. I guess you'd better keep writing.
I always enjoy reading Siren Voices. We get a rare glimpse into others lives, written by a caring individual. Thank you, Spence!
3 years! Congratulations. I don't often comment but your blog is in my reader as an absolute must read. I always take time to read your posts properly too, they're so evocative.

Love your blog.. please keep going. Your insight into human nature is wonderful. You are one of the best reads on the net.
Spence
Congratulations!
Always a pleasure to read, probably because of the fragmented nature of the posts. I dispatch ambulances, and understand completely how quickly patients come and go. Your postings help to show some of the accumulated life history behind each job. I would - and frequently do - recommend Siren Voices to anyone. If you haven't thought of publishing, you should.
All the best,
Mike
Well. I think I deserve a prize for being your 100,001th hit. Don't worry about a book on prescription drugs, I'll just have the prescription drugs thanks Lx
Spence, it's been a pleasure and I will still be around when you hit 200k that I can promise...still trying to remove the Hot Fuzz picture from my brain though must admit...head first in dog shit would just about of finished that one off....:) x
No it isn't a frustrating read, and thank you for persevering and not giving up that time you felt you should. Not to mention a thank you for what I'm sure is often a thankless job.
I think its more a case of thanking you Spence for writing such a wonderful blog, it is compulsive reading and never fails to raise a smile, a tear or a "there for the grace of God go I".. thanks again

No, thank YOU! For the excellent blog, the great writing, and the compassion and understanding you bring to your patients.
Congratulations! you are a pleasure to read - that's why I keep coming back :)
The reason y ou get so many hits is because your blog is so bloody good spence! It's the first thing I look at when I open IE, just in case you've treated us all to a new update.
Congratulations and here's to many more thousands of well-deserved hits!
Kitty =^..^=
You write a wonderful blog Spence, and THAT'S why you're getting the hits you do...far from frustrating, this is, as Bendy says, "an absolute must read"...
Well done mate!
Congratulations, not frustrating, just a wonderful glimpse of gems, some cut, some uncut (that is the characters, not the writing!)
Here is to the next 100K
Hey Spence, Have just enjoyed catching up on your writing. Think your observations of people and places are still intriguing, beautiful and melancholy at times. Glad you still sound as dedicated as ever.
Congrats on the blog hits
Oh its not frustrating I love your blog. You have a great writing style - quite different for other similar blogs - looking forward to lots more x
It is always a true pleasure to read your blog, Spence. These glimpses you give us into your work, the people you help, and the place in which you live are like shadowboxes filled with jewels and stones.
If you'll keep writing, I'll keep reading. Thanks for the gift.
