I wonder how she felt about ...He has his moments.

I wonder how she felt about the whole thing later. Whether it'll modify her views at all. I'm not anti-homeopathy - but I'm certainly not anti-conventional medicine, either! It's knowing when to use them.Spence Kennedyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11183848895584919812noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27691111.post-16667479667772920772012-03-21T22:10:04.807+00:002012-03-21T22:10:04.807+00:00That was very diplomatic of Frank. Does seem highly irresponsible, though, and even cruel - especially in the case of children, who don't have any say in the matter.

AB - Thanks. It was difficult to resist vocalising our disapproval of the route they'd been down re. MMR & anti-pyretics. Particularly as the child was dependent on them to make the right decision. But maybe this is an issue that needs taking up at a higher level with the homeopathic sector.

tpals - Fevers are horrible. I'd take anything to avoid it (except Arnica).

jacks - I think unless there are complications (and there can be), measles is treated at home with rest, hydration and anti-pyretics. I had measles when I was a child, but the only thing I remember about it was my eldest brother coming home with a toy robot for me (wish I still had it - the robot, that is).

Cheers for the comments!Spence Kennedyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11183848895584919812noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27691111.post-85957759822309071692012-03-19T07:51:14.116+00:002012-03-19T07:51:14.116+00:00Homeopathy has it's moments I suppose, but sure...Homeopathy has it's moments I suppose, but surely that was just a case of paracetamol and fluids and the girl would have been fine?jacksofbuxtonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05420847156401984373noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27691111.post-79290832569133649362012-03-19T02:29:16.393+00:002012-03-19T02:29:16.393+00:00A fever of 104! It sounds like you played it just right.

Hope the lass came through it okay.Absentbabinskihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08403807234722817890noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27691111.post-22256608028503647662012-03-18T18:27:54.544+00:002012-03-18T18:27:54.544+00:00Scary. Serious questions need to be asked of the homeopath who told the parents not to treat a child with as dangerous a disease as measles.

Great writing, as always, by the way.Robhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01990930104445175400noreply@blogger.com
