I have to say I think on the whole people are encouraging and supportive of the ambulance service, even when the 'bigger picture' - the politics & such - lets them down sometimes.Spence Kennedyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11183848895584919812noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27691111.post-88298642228696657012013-02-27T21:58:55.651+00:002013-02-27T21:58:55.651+00:00You and your colleagues Spence are very special......You and your colleagues Spence are very special...as I well know...so whilst you're not, of course, about to big yourself up, please don't feel you're not appreciatedcogidubnushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03542717738481600745noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27691111.post-48899286583220872502013-01-17T22:56:27.983+00:002013-01-17T22:56:27.983+00:00Thanks Eileen! For all the frustrations, though, it's still a good job. Obviously worthwhile, even for the 'small stuff'. It probably should have a better wage & working conditions, but hey - I sleep well (especially if I'm wearing ear plugs). xxSpence Kennedyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11183848895584919812noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27691111.post-55460661165125337952013-01-17T20:11:11.711+00:002013-01-17T20:11:11.711+00:00"Sometimes I wonder about writing these piece..."Sometimes I wonder about writing these pieces - whether I should really inflict them on everyone."

It is high time other people knew what you do for that pathetic salary - with often a non-optional extra 2 hours at the end of a 12 hour night shift. But having said all that, it wasn't as bad as some jobs we go to, so we coped okay.

Sometimes I wonder about writing these pieces - whether I should really inflict them on everyone. I mean, it's bad enough for the patient, their family and the crews, let alone anyone else. But then I think what the hell! Slice of life n' all that. I must definitely make more of an effort to 'find the funny' though. I mean after all, that's a major part of coping for us in the job.

Cheers, Jacks.
